The US Forest Service is seeking public input on a Special Use proposal that has been received by the Gunnison Ranger District.
Recreation Events
CRESTED BUTTE NORDIC COUNCIL is requesting a special use permit for a summer Nordic training camp in the Kebler Pass area.  The camp is planned for June 5th to 8th 2008.  Approximately 60 individuals will participate. 
In order to make an informed decision on the issuance of this permit, the Gunnison Ranger District is accepting comments on the proposal.  Comments must be received within 30 calendar days of the publication of this legal notice in the Gunnison Country Times.  Comments may be submitted in writing to the following address:  Gunnison Ranger District, Attn: Ray Rossman, 216 N. —INVITATION TO BID—
The County of Gunnison, Colorado, will receive sealed bids for the Design and Construction of a 40’ x 60’ steel building at the Gunnison County Public Works Department, 811 Rio Grande Avenue, Gunnison, Colorado, until 4:00 p.m. June 5, 2008.  The project is called the Facilities and Maintenance Storage Building Project.  All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Gunnison County Public Works Conference Room, at the above place and time.
The pertinent features of this project include the design and construction of a 40’ x 60’ steel building to be used for storage of equipment, tools and furniture.  The facility will be located on the south end of the Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center.
The Contract Documents will be available beginning on May 21, 2008 for a non-refundable cost of $20.00 per set.  The Contract Documents may be obtained in person at the following location from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays: 
Gunnison County Public Works Department, 811 Rio Grande Avenue, Gunnison, CO 81230, (970) 641-0044.
The Contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder which in the sole discretion of the County is deemed to be in the best interest of the County.  The County reserves the right to accept the bid by a competent bidder that in the County’s opinions will be in the County’s best interest.  The County reserves the right to accept or reject any bid without disclosing the reason therefore.
No bids may be withdrawn after the opening of bids, without consent of Gunnison County, for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of opening of bids.  The successful bidder or bidders will be required to furnish satisfactory performance bonds equal to the full amount of each bid or proposal.

VARIANCE REQUESTS AND REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING FOR  ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH BOARD
June 5, 2008 ~ 1:15 to 4:30 P.M.

HEARING DATE, TIMES, AND LOCATION: The Gunnison County Environmental Health Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, June 5, at 1:15 p.m. in the Planning Commission Meeting Room of the Blackstock Building Gunnison County Plaza, 221 N. Wisconsin, second floor.  The public is invited.
APPLICANTS AND LOCATION:
1:15 p.m.   Public Hearing for David and Sue Bratton for Lot 7 Whitewater Estates, approximately 4.4 miles east of Harmel’s Guest Ranch on the Taylor River Road, County Road 742.  An Individual Sewage Disposal System Permit was denied because the lot did not meet the County one acre minimum-requirement.  (ISDS Regulations 3-113). The Lot is 0.89 acres. 
REASON FOR PERMIT DENIAL: The Gunnison County Individual Sewage Disposal System Regulations, Section 3-113 states: “An individual sewage disposal system shall not be permitted to be installed on a parcel of land less than one acre in size unless part of a subdivision approved by the County prior to the adoption of these Regulations if that approval included siting for ISDS systems”.  During the site inspections the County found that the lot was less than one acre.  (0.89 acres)
