Crested Butte council field has potential to grow

Williams only one running for mayor so far

One petition out of the nine taken out has been returned to the Crested Butte town clerk for the upcoming Town Council election. Leah William has turned in her petition to run for mayor. Eight other petitions have been picked up at town hall for four open council seats.

Expressing an interest in running for council are Phoebe Wilson, Jay Harris, Megan Clark, Guy Ciulla, Brian Kilkelly, Erika Vohman, John Wirsing and someone who picked up a petition anonymously.
The election is November 3 but given the mail-in ballot, petitions must be picked up, completed with ten valid signatures and turned into the town clerk by this Monday, August 24 at 5 p.m.
No one becomes an official candidate until the petition is turned in and validated by the town clerk.
