Movie fundraiser to help women mountain bikers

World Ride will be hosting a movie night fundraiser event in Crested Butte on February 27. The proceeds from the evening will support the mission of World Ride to empower women globally through mountain biking. The event will feature women’s mountain bike films. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts and movies will start at 7:30. There will also be a raffle. The movie night is presented by Talk of the Town, which will host the after-party and give a free beer to anyone with a movie ticket from the evening.

Adjust your attitude but be careful

The Mountain Express Town Shuttle will run late on Friday, February 28 for the Ski Patrol’s Attitude Adjustment/Wall to Wall Party at the Public House in downtown Crested Butte. The last bus from Crested Butte to Mt. Crested Butte will leave Old Town hall at 2:10 a.m., and the last bus from Mt. Crested Butte to Crested Butte will leave Mountaineer Square at 2 a.m. Additionally, the Town Taxi will be running its regular late-night service and can be reached at (970) 209-0509.

Save the date for PTA fundraiser March 28

Mark your calendars for the Crested Butte Community School’s PTA fundraiser – Love Your School, A Stellar Keller Evening on March 28. Get ready for a big night with Keller Williams on stage at the new Center for the Arts. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 9 and can be purchased online at crestedbuttepta.org. This will be a great night to show your love and support for CBCS!

Run for a seat on the Met Rec board

Gunnison County Met Rec District is holding a Call for Nominations. An election will be held on May 5, 2020, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. At that time, three directors will be elected to serve three-year terms and two directors will be elected to serve two-year terms. Center happenings

This week at the Center immerses you in the visual arts starting with the weekly Wheel Throwing Workshop (Friday, February 28) for spinning up pottery creations with expert guidance. Creativity & Cocktails warms you up from the inside with Winter Scenes & Whiskey dreams learning beginning acrylic painting techniques on a wood panel (Tuesday, March 3). Experiment with a different surface in YUPO – a unique plastic paper allowing you to embrace completely different watercolor techniques in the YUPO & Watercolor Series (Wednesday, March 4).

Habitat applications being taken for local housing
