CBMR working for summer opening

“We’re close but things are in flux”

After Crested Butte Mountain Resort has stood quiet and deserted for the past several months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, signs of recent activity on the mountain hint the resort is finally laying the groundwork to come back to life for summer mountain operations.

CBMR senior communications specialist Will Shoemaker said the resort remains optimistic it will be able to resume some lift operations for guests by late June or early July. “We’re close but things are in flux,” he said. As some in the community may have noticed, the Red Lady lift is spinning, and Shoemaker confirmed, “Some of our mountain operations team members have returned to work to begin routine lift maintenance projects.

“We’re taking the time to ensure our mountain experience is safe for employees, guests and the community,” Shoemaker concluded, noting that more updates would become available soon.
