The Mt. Crested Butte Town Council has narrowed their search for the next town manager to two finalist candidates: Carlos Velado of Mt. Crested Butte and Isa Reeb of Denver. The council announced the final two candidates during their February 2 meeting.

Velado, Mt. Crested Butte’s community development director, is currently serving the role of interim town manager and Reeb, of Reeb Consulting, is an urban strategist specializing in complex urban growth projects.

Mayor Janet Farmer said that Reeb plans to visit the town on February 10 with her fiancé, and will meet with town representatives and tour around Mt. Crested Butte.

Farmer recognized council members Steve Morris and Nicholas Kempin for their roles in vetting applicants since former town manager Joe Fitzpatrick retired in September.

“Thank you to Steve and Nicholas for all the hard work they’ve done getting us to this point,” she said. “You’ve put in a lot of hours putting this all together.”
