—Gunnison County Board of County Commissioners Meetings—

The Board of County Commissioners meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month for Regular Meetings and on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month for Work Sessions.  Special Meetings, including Public Hearings, may be scheduled at any time.     
Meetings are held in the Gunnison County Board of County Commissioners’ boardroom located in the Gunnison County Courthouse at 200 E. Virginia, Gunnison, CO 81230.  Agendas are posted in the glass display case at the Courthouse and on the County’s website at www.gunnisoncounty.org/commissioners_meetings.html.  Agendas are subject to the addition of items up to 24 hours in advance of a meeting.  Deletions from an agenda may occur at any time.  For further information, please contact County Administration at (970) 641-0248.  If special accommodations are necessary per ADA requirements, please contact County Administration or TTY 641-3061 prior to the meeting.

The Board of Directors of the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy
District will conduct their regular board meeting on Thursday, September
24, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting is being held in the District
offices, 234 North Main Street, Suite 3B, Gunnison and is open to the
public.  An agenda will be posted at the District office prior to the
meeting.

—REQUEST FOR BIDs—

Request for Bid: Gunnison Valley Hospital is accepting bids for renovation of two patient rooms. Detailed bid document information is available at the Hospital reception desk.     • Call to order; determine quorum
    • Approval of Minutes
    • Unscheduled citizens: A brief period in which the public is invited to make general comments or ask questions of the Commission or Planning Staff about items which are not scheduled on the day’s agenda.
9:00 a.m.    Commission will leave Blackstock for Persons site visit
9:30 a.m.    Persons Subdivision,  site visit/no action, request for the resubdivision of Lot 1, Creekwood Subdivision into three single-family lots; located approximately 6.5 miles northeast of Almont, 1.5 miles north of County Road 742 (Taylor River Road), west of County Road 744 (Spring Creek Road)
11:00 a.m.    Watson Flats Gravel Pit,  Forest Service/Gunnison County, work session/no action, request for development of a gravel pit to provide gravel solely for County roads and Forest Service roads and campgrounds in the Kebler Pass area; crushing of material would take place approximately 15 days/year, every third or fourth year, with gravel stockpiled on site; located near the 11.5 mile marker on County Road 12 (Kebler Pass)
Noon    Lunch
1:00 p.m.    Planning Commission Work Session, work session/no action,  general overview and discussion of the NEPA process, presentation by representatives from the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service
• End of Meeting    Report of actions taken by BOCC.
    • A brief period in which Commission debriefs on the day’s processes, etc. No discussion or action on any specific Land Use Change Permit applications will take place at this time.

­—Notice of appointment to board of education—
 The Board of Education of the Gunnison Watershed School District is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment in November, 2009 until the next regular biennial school election in November 2011.  To be eligible for appointment, each candidate must be a registered elector of the school district for at least twelve consecutive months prior to the date of appointment.  The applicant must also be a resident south of round mountain and in the school district.  Any person who meets the qualifications and who desires to be considered for the appointment is invited to file a written notice of such intention with Stephanie Juneau, designated election official, by October 21, 2009, at 800 N Boulevard, Gunnison, CO 81230. The Board will interview prospective candidates on October 28, 2009 at a public meeting.
