Developers will present a proposal to the CB council within the month

The developers of the 44-acre parcel just north of Crested Butte will present a proposal to the Crested Butte Town Council within the next month to enter into a partnership. While apparently no longer interested in pursuing an annexation of the property to town, the development group does see benefit to both sides in connecting homes to the town wastewater treatment plant.

Cypress Foothills LP attorney Marcus Lock came before the council on Monday, December 7 and said the development team had a productive meeting with the town staff about the issue within the last week.

“I wanted to reintroduce myself and the team to the new council,” Lock said. “While (Cypress Equities Vice President) Cameron [Aderhold] could not be here tonight, we wanted to touch base and we will have a status report on the wastewater treatment situation. We will be proceeding with plans through the county but that does not mean we will not be neighbors. We had a productive meeting with the town staff and our team hopes to continue to work with the town on connectivity. We think there are benefits for everyone.”

Lock said he hopes to have a presentation of a proposal at either the December 21 council meeting or the first meeting in 2016 on January 4.

Responding to councilman Jim Schmidt, who asked him if he was speaking as a lawyer or as a part of the development group, Lock said he was a team member who believed in the project. “Feel free to touch base or ask me any questions and I will pass them along to everyone on the team,” Lock assured the council.
