PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on August 19, 2008, the Mt. Crested Butte Town Council approved a resolution calling for a special election on November 4, 2008 on a ballot issue on A DEBT QUESTION:
SHALL THE TOWN OF MT. CRESTED BUTTE DEBT BE INCREASED $8,610,000 WITH A REPAYMENT COST OF UP TO $16,227,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING
●AN EXTENSION OF THE EXISTING RECREATION PATH AND A NEW PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE,
● STREET IMPROVEMENTS,
● TENNIS COURT RESURFACING,
●PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS AT TOWN HALL, AND
●MAINTENANCE FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS;
AND SHALL SUCH DEBT BE IN THE FORM OF REVENUE BONDS PAYABLE FROM THE TOWN SALES TAX AND SUCH OTHER NON-PROPERTY TAX REVENUES AS THE TOWN COUNCIL MAY PLEDGE FOR SUCH PAYMENT; AND SHALL SUCH DEBT BE SOLD IN ONE SERIES OR MORE AT A PRICE ABOVE, BELOW OR EQUAL TO THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF SUCH DEBT AND ON SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS THE TOWN MAY DETERMINE, INCLUDING PROVISIONS FOR REDEMPTION OF THE DEBT PRIOR TO MATURITY WITH OR WITHOUT PAYMENT OF PREMIUM OF NOT TO EXCEED 3.0%; AND SHALL THE TOWN BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE DEBT TO REFUND THE DEBT AUTHORIZED IN THIS QUESTION, PROVIDED THAT AFTER THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH REFUNDING DEBT THE TOTAL OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF ALL DEBT ISSUED PURSUANT TO THIS QUESTION DOES NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PRINCIPAL AMOUNT SET FORTH ABOVE, AND PROVIDED FURTHER THAT ALL DEBT ISSUED BY THE TOWN PURSUANT TO THIS QUESTION IS ISSUED ON TERMS THAT DO NOT EXCEED THE REPAYMENT COSTS AUTHORIZED IN THIS QUESTION; AND SHALL THE EARNINGS FROM THE INVESTMENT OF SUCH BOND PROCEEDS BE COLLECTED, RETAINED, AND SPENT AS A VOTER APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE UNDER ARTICLE X, SECTION 20, OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW?
The Town Clerk shall receive written comments for and against the proposal until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2008. Comments may be mailed or delivered to the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, PO Box 5800 (911 Gothic Road), Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225. Those written comments received by the deadline shall then become part of a summary of comments, both for and against the proposal.
However, only those comments submitted by persons eligible to vote in the political subdivision must be summarized in the ballot issue notice. To be summarized in the ballot issue notice, the comments shall include a signature and the address where the signor is registered to vote.
Copies of the resolution are available for public inspection at the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, 911 Gothic Road, Mt. Crested Butte CO during business hours.

On Bus Advertising
Mountain Express
The Mountain Express Municipal Bus system is requesting proposals from individuals or businesses wishing to sell and install advertising inside the Mountain Express vehicles. The winning contractor will be required to solicit advertising, collect advertising revenues from advertisers, create placards for advertisers, as well as install and maintain the advertising placards. Advertising placards must be installed prior to November 21, 2008 and Mountain Express will require payment from the winning contractor by December 31, 2008.

Notice is hereby given that any private, non-governmental corporations and community service organizations seeking funds from the Town of Mt. Crested Butte in the year 2009 must submit a written request for inclusion in the budget prior to September 19, 2008. Copies of Resolution No. 5, Series 1998, which contains the criteria for funding requests, are available at the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, 911 Gothic Road, Mt.
