Korkowski considers run for U.S. Senate

An informal meeting was held at Izzy’s Restaurant in Crested Butte last week for Luke Korkowski, who announced his exploration of candidacy for a Senate seat from Colorado.

Korkowski lives in Mt. Crested Butte and runs a solo law practice in Crested Butte. As a transactional attorney and businessman, he has helped several Gunnison Valley entrepreneurs start their own small businesses.
Over the last several years, Korkowski says he has become increasingly concerned that our senators—and political leaders in general—simply do not understand the causes and cures of economic booms and busts. He says he hopes to engage with fellow Coloradans to explore long-lasting solutions to our economic and political challenges.
Korkowski holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, an MBA from Texas Christian University, and a JD from the George Washington University Law School. He is married and has two small children.
If Korkowski formally announces his candidacy, he will compete in the Republican primary election in August 2010 and in the general election in November 2010.
