Nordic team gearing up for 2009-2010 season

Hitting the trails across the West

The Crested Butte Junior Nordic Team is traveling all over the West right now for tremendous training opportunities.
After a brief stint at the Grand Mesa in Colorado, the tight-knit team of seven athletes and two coaches is currently in West Yellowstone, Montana at the nation’s largest Nordic skiing festival.
The athletes are training several hours per day in hopes of furthering their fitness and efficiency for the long season of racing coming up.
The racers take to the track with a series of races next week in Breckenridge. They are ready to begin racing and test themselves against the best in Colorado and the Western United States. The hope for all the athletes is to qualify for the Junior National Championships in Presque Isle, Maine in March.
