25on25–Helping the local economy

Let’s see what spending $25 can do

The local economic picture for the valley has not been the brightest of news this past year. But a new campaign is under way to help inject some positivity into it.

More than 50 local businesses have teamed up with the Crested Butte News and the Chamber of Commerce’s Think Local First program to ask everyone to do something simple: Spend $25 locally on Thursday, March 25. There are a lot of great discount deals to help motivate you.
The idea is to help boost the local economy. The dollars we spend locally will multiply with our friends and neighbors.
Spend your $25 with a local business instead of online or out of town. “Money spent in town stays in town,” explained Kristen Van Hoesen of the Chamber’s Think Local First program. “A strong economy starts at home,” she says.
Turn to pages 16-18 in this edition of the News to see the great promotions many of the local businesses are running for the 25on25 campaign.
There are endless deals to help you spend at least $25. Tell your co-workers, your family, your neighbors. Let’s see what spending $25 on March 25 can do to improve our economy.
The campaign is sponsored by the Crested Butte News and the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce Think Local First program.
