CB News Candidate’s Forum to be held this Sunday at the Center

Ask your questions…

Your chance to ask the candidates for county commissioner a question will be this Sunday at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts.
The Crested Butte News Candidate’s Forum will be held October 17 starting at 6 p.m. The evening will begin with Kristi Hargrove of the group Gunnison County Citizens for Common Sense, giving an outline of why not to vote for state ballot proposals 60, 61 and 101.

We at the News are looking for someone to present the other side of that argument, so contact us at 349-0500 if you’d like to voice the reasons to vote for the proposals.
The candidates for House District 61 will then take the stage. Each will be given a chance to make an opening statement and then take questions from the audience. Incumbent Kathleen Curry is a write-in candidate while Luke Korkowski is running for the Republicans and Roger Wilson is representing the Democrats.
And sometime between 6:45 and 7 p.m. the candidates for Gunnison County commissioner, Democrat Jim Starr and Republican Phil Chamberland, will go under the spotlight. They will each make a case for themselves and then take questions from the audience for the next 90 minutes or so.
The forum will be run by longtime moderator Denis B. Hall and broadcast by local radio station KBUT. This is your chance to get first-hand answers to your questions before casting your vote this fall.
