East River, Silver Queen start spinning this
Saturday

It’s a fast and furious kickoff to the ski season, with new lifts and runs opening weekly. “The East River Detachable Quad will open Saturday, December 4 with the following terrain: Black Eagle, Double Top Glades, Resurrection, Daisy, Floresta, Lower Treasury and Lower Gallowich,” according to Chris Corliss, Crested Butte Mountain Resort mountain manager. “This terrain will not be maintained by grooming equipment until we receive more snow.”
Silver Queen Detachable Quad will open Saturday, December 4 with the following terrain: Lower North Star, Windy Gap, Triangle, Silver Queen Road, Ruby Road, Upper Keystone, Jokerville, Twister, Crystal, Upper International, Lower International, Upper Park and Upper Roller Coaster.
“The snow guns are running on the front side right now to get this terrain open and then we will come down into the base area and work on Buckley, the Tubing Park, Lower Twister, and the Painter Boy and Gold Link lift pods,” said Corliss. “We are still waiting for more snow in the extremes before we go for High Lift. We plan on opening the Cascade Terrain Park and Super Pipe for Christmas week, but the way things are going we might be able to get them open sooner.”
For this weekend, CBMR will offer the following lifts: Silver Queen, Red Lady, Paradise, East River, Teocalli, Peachtree and the Aspen and Pine conveyors.
Midweek they will drop Teocalli, Peachtree and one of the conveyors and then bring them back online for the weekend of December 11 and 12.
