Wolfpack in the Frozen Four Saturday

Battling for shot at state finals

The Crested Butte Wolfpack hockey team is in the Frozen Four tournament of the Rocky Mountain Youth Hockey League this weekend in Gunnison.
The Wolfpack finished the regular season in second place. Wolfpack player Ben Reaman tied Gunnison Blades player Brandon Roedder for the league scoring title with 49 points with Wolfpack skater Sam Evans the league’s second leading scorer with 48 points.
The Frozen Four tournament will be held in Gunnison Friday through Sunday, March 4-6. The Wolfpack starts tournament play on Saturday, March 5 at 10:45 a.m. against the Kremmling Cattle Kings.
If the Wolfpack win, they will more than likely face the Gunnison Blades, the Frozen Four number one seed, Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The Frozen Four championship game is on Sunday, March 6 at 3 p.m. The winner of the tournament will then head to the state tournament.
In addition, Crested Butte Bantams and Pee Wee teams are also in the Frozen Four tournament of their leagues and will be playing in Gunnison throughout the weekend as well.
The Bantams take on Gunnison at 6 p.m. on Friday followed by the Pee Wees playing Kremmling at 7:30 p.m.
