Daily airline service from Dallas to CB confirmed

Nonstop service from American Airlines for
the 2011-2012 season

On Wednesday, June 8, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR), in cooperation with the Gunnison Valley Rural Transportation Authority (RTA), announced the return of direct, daily nonstop jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) on American Airlines throughout the 2011-2012 winter season.

 

 

American Airlines will fly a Boeing-757 round-trip daily from Dallas/Fort Worth to the Gunnison/Crested Butte Regional Airport. Air service begins Thursday, December 15, 2011 and will conclude Monday, April 2, 2012, providing nearly 20,000 in-bound seats for winter travelers. DFW, an American Airlines hub, offers regularly scheduled direct service and connections to more than 200 cities worldwide.
“We are excited to make this timely announcement as we prepare for the 2011-2012 winter season,” said Daren Cole, vice president of sales and marketing for CBMR. “Consistency in our air service is very important. We have loyal guests in Dallas and connecting cities who rely on air travel to visit Gunnison and Crested Butte every winter and we are eager to welcome them back.”
Travelers can expect the following flights times (subject to change):
Depart DFW 1:15 p.m.; arrive GUC 2:15 p.m.
Depart GUC 3:15 p.m.; arrive DFW 6:10 p.m.
The RTA and CBMR will hold their next meeting on Friday, June 10 to discuss the airline program and review contract options with airline consultant Airplanners, Inc.
