10th Annual Ball Bash this weekend

Hot dogs, frosty beverages and a home run derby to boot

Still haven’t got your softball fix? There’s more than you can imagine coming this weekend to the fields of Crested Butte.
The 10th annual Ball Bash is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14.
The Colorado Lottery and the Tommy Ruben Villanueva Sports and Recreation Fund are partnering with the Parks and Recreation Department to put on the Ball Bash to benefit youth scholarships to town programs.
Currently there are three local teams signed up, including last year’s Ball Bash champions, the Dark Stars.
In addition, town of Crested Butte Recreation Program coordinator Lauren Alkire is waiting to get registration forms from teams in Telluride, Salida and Gunnison to show up and take on the local talent.
Games are slated to start at 9 o’clock Saturday morning at Tommy V Field and will run all day long, culminating with the annual home run derby.
If enough teams sign up, the tournament will then continue on Sunday.
