Climbers pull down at Butte Bouldering Bonanza

Positive vibe surrounds comp

The sixth annual Butte Bouldering Bonanza, hosted by the Western State College Climbing Club, went down at the Skyland boulders in Crested Butte, on Saturday, September 10.

With a showing of more than 40 climbers and 12 registered in the competition, most just enjoyed the casual positive environment.
To show the spirit of the event, the biggest prize, an Evolv pair of climbing shoes, went to Gunnison climber Andrew “Truckstop” McKean.
Big thanks to all the sponsors: Rock N Roll Sports, Wilderness Pursuits, Western’s Responsible Alcohol Partnership (WRAP), The Wanderlust Hostel, Evolv, The Climbing Zine, Brick Oven Pizzeria, Crested Butte Mountain Guides, Crested Butte Cooperative, Donita’s Cantina, The Bean, The Firebrand, and StokeLab.
