Bond appears in court, new hearing set

No plea entered

A “dispositional hearing” has been set for former Crested Butte-Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce director Richard Bond. The hearing is set for Tuesday, February 7 at 11 a.m. in the Gunnison County Courtroom.

Bond, the former treasurer of several local nonprofit organizations, has been accused of theft in conjunction with his position with the Crested Butte Rotary Club. He appeared in Gunnison County Court on Tuesday morning, January 10, where Judge Ben Eden set the new hearing date. No plea was entered.
Bond is looking at five class-4 felony counts of theft between $1,000 and $20,000, after allegedly taking more than $40,000 from the Rotary Club account in a series of transactions starting in November 2008. The investigation broke out the transactions in six-month segments, with the last allegedly occurring between May 14, 2011 and August 31, 2011.
Bond also faces one count of theft under $500.
