WSCU mountain bike team finishes third in Division 2

Western State Colorado University (WSCU) Mountain Sports finished off their season by placing third overall in Division 2 at the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships held at Angel Fire, N.M. this past weekend.
The Mountain Sports squad was led by Owen Tulip, who placed second on both the downhill and dual slalom events. Other top five finishers included Caleb Woodworth (fifth in downhill) and Graham Ruhmann (fifth in cross-country).
Alexis Kelley placed seventh among women in the short track and eighth in cross-country with teammate Angela Vitulli placing ninth in the cross-country race.
With the mountain biking season in the books, WSCU Mountain Sports bikers are gearing up for Wednesday afternoon cyclocross racing behind Mountaineer Bowl on the WSCU campus. Race dates are October 31 and November 7. Registration begins at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 4:30 p.m.
