Man commits suicide in Gunnison

On Saturday, January 26, 2013 at approximately 9:20 a.m. Gunnison Police officers were advised of a possible suicide involving a firearm at 111 North Main Street. On arrival officers contacted the store’s owner. The owner advised when they came to work the alley door was found to have been broken in.

Upon entering the building they located a person known to them as Eric Domel lying on the floor inside the business. Officers and ambulance service personnel observed Mr. Domel had suffered a single gunshot wound and determined that he was deceased.
Mr. Domel is not connected to the business other than he has done repair work there and knows the owner. Mr. Domel was currently living in Gunnison. There is no sign of a struggle and nothing is missing from the business.
This incident is under investigation, but nothing indicates at this time that anyone else is involved in the incident.
