Ride the Rockies and Big Mountain Enduro coming back next summer
Crested Butte town manager Todd Crossett told the council Monday, December 15 that the Ride the Rockies bike tour will stop in Crested Butte next summer. “They are still working on the schedule but it will come through town and probably be an overnight stop in mid-June,” he said.
Crossett said the Big Mountain Enduro mountain bike event would also make a return visit to Crested Butte. That event, he said, will be a “World Cup-type event for them” and will take place the same weekend as the Crested Butte Arts Festival in August.

Tax help
Councilman Roland Mason said the RTA had hired a consultant to help with a potential tax issue and they have provided some valuable information. He suggested the town could do the same when addressing a new tax issue geared toward Parks and Recreation maintenance.

GOCO funds Baxter Gulch trail work
Town planner Michael Yerman told the council that the town received a $32,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to pay for continued trail work in Baxter’s Gulch. That work has been done by the Western Colorado Youth Corps group and will continue next summer as a result of the grant award.
