Sales tax revenue up again
In what is becoming a familiar refrain, 2014 sales tax revenue continues to be ahead of budget for Mt. Crested Butte. November sales tax was 22 percent above budget and year-to-date through November, sales tax revenue is 15 percent above budget.

Promontory Ranch closing delayed
Town manager Joe Fitzpatrick let the Town Council know the closing for the Promontory Ranch sale, which includes three parcels of land at the base of Snodgrass Mountain, was delayed. Closing was originally scheduled for January 15. The Crested Butte Land Trust will purchase the parcels and then donate them to Mt. Crested Butte with a permanent conservation easement.
Fitzpatrick said the sale will go through; there’s just some paperwork to get in order. “That’s the only reason for the delay. I’ll let you know when that’s going to happen, but it will happen,” he said.
Ann Johnston, executive director for the Crested Butte Land Trust, has confirmed in separate conversations that closings of this size often get delayed. The delay is not a signal that the closing would fall through.
