Plea agreement sought after scuffle with local marshals

Wife lifts protection order

The Crested Butte man facing six felony charges from a late-night dispute inside his home with Crested Butte marshals appeared in court on Wednesday, January 22.

The dispute began early last December when marshals responded to a 3 a.m. domestic violence call from Eli Pardini’s wife and, upon the marshals’ arrival to the scene on Maroon Avenue, accelerated to a struggle involving loaded firearms between marshals and the 38-year-old man.
Pardini did not have a plea agreement ready at last Wednesday’s hearing; however, his wife did request that the previously issued protection order against her husband be lifted, telling the court that she believes they can still live together despite this event.
Pardini faces charges of felony menacing, the prohibited use of a weapon, resisting arrest, harassment, false imprisonment and domestic violence. He is scheduled to appear in Gunnison district court on February 3 at 2 p.m. Unless he and the court can reach an agreement by that time, a new trial date will be set.
