CBMR vice president and general manager Tim Baker has been promoted to Vail Resorts’ vice president and chief operating officer of the Eastern Region, effective May 19.

In this role, Baker will oversee 23 of Vail’s resorts throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, and will relocate to Vail’s corporate office in Broomfield.

“Tim has been with Vail Resorts since 2007, serving in a variety of leadership roles across Keystone, Breckenridge and Beaver Creek before being appointed to vice president and general manager of Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) in 2018,” said CBMR senior communications specialist Will Shoemaker. “In his time at CBMR, Tim has built a culture of operational excellence, overseeing the integration of Crested Butte into the Vail Resorts portfolio and ushering in impactful capital improvements. At the same time, Tim has served in positions of leadership on multiple local community boards, including the One Valley Leadership Council, Air Command and Mt. Crested Butte Downtown Development Authority.”

Shoemaker said that the process to appoint a new CBMR general manager from within Vail Resorts will proceed immediately.
