Some of my Republican friends were ready to wash my and other GOP non-believer’s faces in the red wave they boasted would sweep America on Election Day. Lauren Boebert declared “The red wave has begun” Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday she was struggling to survive a challenge from a former Aspen councilman her campaign said spent his time boinking in a storage unit. Many of Donald’s endorsed candidates were drowning in a surprise Democrat undercurrent.
Red wave? Even with a Republican House likely, it was more like the puddle found in the men’s room of Shotgun Willie’s on a Thursday night. Whew.
The extreme voices on both the left and right did not dominate Tuesday. There is still reason to have faith in the vast moderate American middle. And that is a good thing to come out of this election.
