Annual Ski Swap Saturday at Crested Butte Center for the Arts

The Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF) will host the 2020 Ski Swap will be held this Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. This year, the swap will be held on one day only.

According to CBSF executive director Zach Vaughter, “This year’s swap will be a bit different in order to adhere to COVID distancing guidelines and strict sanitation measures implemented by Gunnison County. We are going with a one-day format, Saturday only. We are welcoming all winter sporting gear, hockey, alpine and Nordic skis, snowboards, snowshoes, AT gear, splitboards—if it slides or glides, we’ll help you sell it,” said Vaughter.

The CBSF board and staff planned this event, together with key staff from the Center for the Arts.

“We are delighted to partner with the CBSF by hosting the swap this year to help this great cause,” said Melissa Mason of the Center, “and to show off the Center to regular and to first-time visitors.”

Local vendors will be selling new and used gear inside the theater. Skis and snowboards for sale by community members will be outdoors in the east courtyard of the Center.

 

Gear drop-off hours

Thursday, November 5 from noon to 5 p.m.
Friday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Gear will not be accepted outside of these times.

Swap hours

Saturday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Admission donation

$5 per person from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Free from 2 to 5 p.m.
Ages 10 and under are free all day.

 

 

Protocols

Those planning to attend should prepare to observe a few protocols for this public gathering to remain a safe environment. Masks and social distancing will be required, and the venue will be set up as a one-way flow pattern through the swap to help maintain social distancing. Numbers allowed in the building at one time are limited and will be monitored to maintain capacity.

Entry: Enter through the main doors off Sixth Street.

Exit: To east courtyard through Grace Atrium, exit to the Center’s parking lot, back to Sixth St.
