Town attorney search
The town of Mt. Crested Butte continues to search for a long-term town attorney. Staff plans to begin scheduling interviews in May. One of the candidates is also the town’s current interim attorney, Gerald Dahl of Murray Dahl Beery & Renaud LLP.
Pickleball coming this summer
The town has hired the firm Hellas Construction to resurface the two Mt. Crested Butte tennis courts, and one of the courts will be painted and marked for multiple pickle-ball courts. The project is estimated to cost $31,065. The project is slated to kick off in June, depending on weather and the wedding garden schedule.
Judge Eden contract renewed
The council renewed Mt. Crested Butte municipal court judge Ben Eden’s contract for another two years. Judge Eden shared that several issues that used to be more common have not come up as frequently in the last couple of years. “I haven’t gotten a single ski pass misuse this season,” he said. “The hot tub poaching cases have apparently ended.”
