Rec Path crossing relocation
Town manager Carlos Velado informed the town council that the town is in the process of working with an engineer on preliminary drawings to relocate the Rec Path crossing on Gothic Road at the Water and Sanitation entrance. He said they are still very early on in the process, the details of what the realignment will look like is still to be determined, and there is no estimated timeline for the project yet. The council will review the conceptual drawings and options sometime this summer.
Stewardship support
The council approved a letter of support for the Sustainable Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee (STOR) and Tourism and Prosperity Partnership (TAPP) as they apply for a Great Outdoors Colorado grant to install new stewardship etiquette panels at popular trailheads around the valley.
Housing Authority IGA
The council approved an updated Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the Gunnison Valley Regional Housing Authority (GVRHA) to provide affordable housing projects and programs for local employees of the Gunnison Valley. As part of the town’s 2025 budget, the council approved a proportional annual share of $181,121 for the year per the GVRHA’s request, up from $93,750 in 2024.
