RMBL’s thanks for a great 1/3 marathon

Many, many thanks to all Gothic residents, staff, marathon volunteers, and marathon runners for assistance with and support of another successful Gothic to Crested Butte 4th of July 1/3rd Marathon.
We had our biggest year yet with 490 registered runners, walkers, and crawlers! The top two finishers were Benjamin Johnson and Eric Koenig. First across was 31-year-old Benjamin Johnson, of Gunnison, who finished in 52 minutes and 18 seconds, followed by Eric Koenig, 21, of Boulder in54 minutes and 18 seconds. Gothic’s first male finisher was Joshua Davendonis, 22, with 54 minutes and 50 seconds. The top female runner, Keri Nelson, of Gunnison, age 29, finished seventh overall, and came in at 57 minutes and one second, followed by Agnes Kreneraff, of Gunnison, age 29, with 58 minutes and 19 seconds. Gothic’s top female finisher was 21 year old, Kim Lorentz with a time of one hour and one minute.
The oldest runner to finish was Steve Stovall, 69 years old, of Hesperus, Colo., in one hour and 30 minutes. Charlie Zeiter, age seven of Gunnison was the youngest runner finishing the race in two hours and 19 minutes. Heather Whiting was our farthest away runner traveling 2, 328 miles from Falmouth, Maine to participate.
Extra special thanks to Lou Beckman, the Mountain Express drivers, the Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce, the staff and marshals of the towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte, the Paper Clip, the Print Shop, Crested Butte Property Management & Lodging, Brand Connections, and the epic staff of RMBL.
