Board appointments

The Mt. Crested Butte town council appointed JD Crichton and Gary Keiser to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board, and Adam Shindler to the planning commission.

Weeding

The council approved a service contract with Native Landscapes to manage noxious weeds in town for the summer season. They requested more signage during spraying to help advise pedestrians of treatment areas.

Energy mitigation

The council continues to pursue residential exterior and interior energy mitigation programs within the town’s goals to advance energy efficiency and sustainability in the community. The council is currently finalizing an Exterior Energy Offset Program (EEOP) for potential adoption in the coming months.

Wayfinding phase 3

The town is moving into its third phase of its wayfinding signs project, which will include 27 signs that will direct pedestrian traffic to destinations and services throughout the DDA and base area. Signage installation is slated to begin in August.

GreenDeed continues

The council has budgeted $50,000 for the Gunnison Valley Regional Housing Authority (GVRHA) to continue its GreenDeed Program, which helps deed-restricted homeowners reduce energy costs in their homes. GVRHA anticipates retrofitting 10-15 homes in 2025.
