PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on August 18, 2009, the Mt. Crested Butte Town Council approved a resolution calling for a special election on November 3, 2009 on a ballot issue on A TAX INCREASE AND REVENUE QUESTION:
SHALL THE TOWN OF MT. CRESTED BUTTE, COLORADO, TAXES BE INCREASED $307,000.00 (FIRST FULL FISCAL YEAR DOLLAR INCREASE) ANNUALLY; SUCH TAXES TO CONSIST OF A RATE INCREASE IN THE TOWN SALES TAX OF 1% COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2010; AND SHALL THE TAX REVENUES THEREFROM AND ALL EARNINGS THEREON BE COLLECTED, RETAINED, AND SPENT WITHOUT LIMITATION OR CONDITION AS A VOTER APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE UNDER ARTICLE X, SECTION 20, OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION, OR ANY OTHER LAW?
The Town Clerk shall receive written comments for and against the proposal until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009. Comments may be mailed or delivered to the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, PO Box 5800 (911 Gothic Road), Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225. Those written comments received by the deadline shall then become part of a summary of comments, both for and against the proposal.
However, only those comments submitted by persons eligible to vote in the political subdivision must be summarized in the ballot issue notice. To be summarized in the ballot issue notice, the comments shall include a signature and the address where the signor is registered to vote.
Copies of the resolution are available for public inspection at the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, 911 Gothic Road, Mt. Crested Butte CO during business hours.

—INVITATION TO BID – Upper Washington Gulch Flume—
Date: August 18, 2009 Sealed Bids will be received for the Mt. Crested Butte Water and Sanitation District (hereinafter referred to as OWNER), at the office of the OWNER at 100 Gothic Road, PO Box 5740, attn: Frank Glick, Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado, 81225, until 2:00 p.m. M.D.T., our clock, on September 2, 2009, for the bid of the Upper Washington Gulch Flume.
At said place and time, and promptly thereafter, all Bids that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
This Project generally includes the construction of a concrete headwall, bypass channel, and installation of a flume for flow measurement on the Upper Washington Gulch creek above Meridian Lake.
All Bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents on file with the OWNER. Questions by Bidders should be addressed to the ENGINEER for resolution as early as possible. Contract Documents may be viewed at the following plan rooms:

A pre-bid conference and job walk-through with representatives of perspective Bidders will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the District’s administration office at 100 Gothic Road in Mt. Crested Butte.
The Work is expected to commence within the time as required by Section 2.03 of the General Conditions. Substantial Completion of the Work is required as specified in the Agreement.
Bid security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid must accompany each Bid in the form specified in the Instruction to Bidders.
The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond guaranteeing faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract.
No Bid may be withdrawn within a period of ninety (90) days after the date fixed for opening Bids.
The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, and to waive any informalities and irregularities therein.
