Kids Calendar

Private School Scholarships for 4th through 6th grade students: The Studio Art School plans to award two scholarships for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year to students interested in attending their 4th through 6th grade academic program. The scholarships will be need-based to ensure that this educational alternative is affordable and available to all who are interested. The deadline for contacting us regarding this program and/or applying for a scholarship is March 31, 2010. Families who wish to learn more about the program or available scholarships must contact Sue Wilson at or 275-6339 by this date.

Storytimes at the library! We focus on the younger readers (ages 0-3) on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., and older kids on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. (ages 3 and up). Come browse our new Family Resources section, as well as some easier non-fiction collections. Please call 349-6535 with questions.

KIDS! Stop in to The Studio Art School’s Pottery Place and paint a free ornament when you purchase and paint one or more pieces of pottery. Choose from mugs, plates, bowls, and a huge selection of just-for-kids pottery, including piggy banks, boxes, figurines, and more. Prices $6 and up. Just mention the Crested Butte News’ Kids’ Calendar. Open Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Located at 502 Belleview next to Clark’s Market. Tumblebugs is an ongoing program for kids ages birth to 3 years. Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. come to Jerry’s Gym in Town Hall to socialize and play with a variety of toys and equipment. $5 per session, $40 for a 10 session punch card, or get the whole year for $100. Cash or check only, register when you come.
