ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS
Congratulations to the 8th grade winners of the Daughters of the Revolution essay contest: 3rd place: Sam Reaman; 2nd place: Lindsey Johnson, 1st place: tie with Leila Nichols and Lauren Yehle!! Leila’s and Lauren’s essays were submitted to the State Competition and Leila won the entire competition. She is the STATE WINNER for ALL the 8th grade entries!!! HS TRACK STARTS SOON
It’s time for track, despite the snowbanks and sub-zero mornings, spring is indeed coming!Join us the Weds. before winter break, Feb.16, at Titan Time in the MPR room for an informational meeting about HS Track and Field. This is the time to sign up, ask questions, and get your friends involved. The first day of practice is the Mon. after break, Feb. 28, Dig out your running shoes and start getting ready for another great season of record-breaking times and rip-roaring fun.
LOST BLACK MITTEN
Oliver van Tiel lost his left black Hestra mitten,size 4. It should have his name inside. If you help us find this mitten we’ll gladly bake you some cookies!(349-6611).
LOST JACKET
Tiwa lost her jacket on New Year’s Eve and has yet to find it. Unfortunately, another student may have picked it up by mistake. It was (and probably still is!) a robin egg blue North Face fleece Parka with a hood. Please check to see if it’s at your home by mistake. Thanks
HS BAND NEWS

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Registration for next year’s Kindergarten class will be held on Thurs., Mar. 3, from 8-10AM in the MPR. Parents should bring copies of immunization records and birth certificates, but it is not necessary to bring your child. Children who are 5 years old by Sept. 30, are eligible to register. Early Entrance applications for ‘highly advanced gifted children’ are available through the school principal or on the gifted education page of the district website and must be completed by April 1st .
FREE FAFSA HELP
Filling out the FAFSA for a student attending college next fall 2011? The Western State College financial aid staff will provide assistance in filling out the FAFSA on Sunday, February 13th from 2-4pm in Borick 113.
