Kids Calendar

• Come and join us for June’s Character Camp!  Developing character and values through fun, games, crafts, teamwork, relationships & stories for elementary aged children. The character traits we’re exploring are Enthusiasm, Boldness, Cautiousness, Discernment & Dependability. We’ll be at the Town Hall, 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday, June 6th to Friday, June 10th. • Art Summer Camp at The Studio:  M-F all summer, 9am to 3pm for $40 per day.  Check our website at for weekly themes and email to register.  For ages 5 and up.  NEW this summer for 3 and 4 year olds is our half day drop-off camp on Mondays from 9am to noon.  Also check out our week-long kids’ workshop intensives in multimedia, drawing, photography, and drumming. For kids looking to immerse themselves in ONE medium.  All workshop intensives taught by local artists!
• Little League:  Baseball for youth Ages 5 – 12. Season runs June 6th until the end of July. For more information or to register, go to
• Summer Gymnastics:  Classes for the summer session are on Tuesdays and Thursdays running June 14th – August 18th. Only in town for a couple weeks? Three week, semi-private lessons on Fridays are available as well as full private lessons. For more information or to register, go to
• Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp:  Challenger Sports is returning for their second year in Crested Butte from August 8 – 12, 2011. For youth ages 3 – 16 go to to register or for more information.
• Skateboard Lessons – Session 3:  Kids aged 6 – 16 can skate in lessons on Wednesdays in three sessions throughout the summer. Private Skate Lessons available as well. For more information or to register, go to
• Triple Threat Basketball Camp:  Coach Brandin Hamilton is back for another great summer of basketball camps in the Crested Butte Community School Gyms here in Crested Butte. For youth going into 2nd through 8th grades for the week of June 27 – July 1. For more information or to register, go to
• Cheer Camp:  Cheer 4 Your Life returns for their third Cheer Camp in Crested Butte. Open to cheerleaders going into 3rd through 8th grade for the 2011 – 2012 school year. July 11 – 15 mornings in Jerry’s Gym in Town Hall. Showcase at noon on Friday in Jerry’s Gym. For more information or to register, go to
• Tennis Clinics – Session 3Tennis Clinics at the Town Tennis Courts begin June 7th, multiple sessions available through the summer. Clinics are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for youth ages 6 – 16. For more information or to register, go to
• Gravity Groms Alpine Day Camps for kids ages 6 & up is currently accepting registrations for Summer ’11.  The Gravity Groms will spend this summer outside honing their monster skills on all of the gravity sports the Valley offers.  From June 6 through August 26, Gravity Groms will be open from M-F, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We are offering a preseason local rate of $45 per Grom day if registered before May 27, $50 thereafter, and $60 for visitors to the Valley.  Contact Doug and Alexandra Hudson at 970-765-6771 or e-mail to enroll or for more information.
• Storytimes at the Old Rock Library!  Mondays AND Fridays at 10:30 for ages 3 and up, and continuing Wednesdays at 11:15 for babies and toddlers. Library storytimes will highlight the 6 early literacy skills recommended by the American Library Association, as well as incorporate titles from the Children’s Book List by the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning.
