Brick Oven team charges through 24 Hours in the Sage

Podium results across the board

The Brick Oven/Crested Butte Builders bike team made its annual trip down south to compete in the 24 Hours in the Sage and finished the weekend with a gaggle of riders and teams in the top three spots in a variety of classes.
The four-person men’s team of Ben Preston, Dodson Harper, Matt Steinwand and Tim Kugler fired off 24 laps, over 300 miles, in the 24-hour race to take second place.
A coed crew of five riders from ROMP skis posted a second-place finish as well completing 20 laps over the course of 24 hours.
The event also offered a 12-hour race and the Brick Oven team took that over by storm as well.
Tim Poppe took the solo men’s title riding nine laps, over 119 miles, in 12 hours and Todd Eggebraten jumped on his single speed to take that title, completing eight laps.
New mom Sarah Gillis rode under the name Team Henry, her newborn’s name, and won the women’s 12-hour solo title with eight laps and BO/CBB rider Sydney Fuller finished in third place among solo women, completing a total of seven laps.
