Crested Butte Blizzard win Front Range tourney

Overtime win in finals

Congratulations to the Pee Wee hockey team for their success in winning the President’s Day Cup Tournament in Colorado Springs.
Our first game on Friday was against the New Mexico Ice Wolves. The Pee Wee team out-shot their opponents and came out with a 2-1 victory. Saturday, we came up against the Highland Hills Jaguars from Denver. It was another close game, but Crested Butte prevailed 3-2. Game three was Sunday morning and played against the Dallas Americans. It was the most physical game so far and our defense played incredibly to help Clayton Freed achieve a 3-0 shutout.
Going into game four with a record of 3-0, we came up against the Colorado Springs Junior Tigers. Although we lost the game, it made the Pee Wees more motivated and hungry for the championship game on Monday against the undefeated Dallas Oilers. At the end of regulation time, the game was tied at 2-2. Crested Butte won the game and the tournament in overtime and came home with the trophy from their first President’s Day Cup.
The coaches are very proud of the spectacular passing and the overall team play.
