Crested Butte Mountain Sports athletes and CBSF member athletes Winter Wallace, Tanner Perkins, Marko Alling, Maya Schaffer, Clyde Bresnahan, Avery Conn and Emma Jean Lovett traveled to Breckenridge for their first race of the season on January 5-6 in Breckenridge.
Led by coach Conor Lynch, they all performed at their personal best. For some of these athletes it was their first exposure to a real USSA race.
Stand-out performances included Winter Wallace, who finished second, fourth, fourth, and then crashed in the fourth race; Tanner Perkins, who finished second, eighth, and eighth and then crashed in the fourth race; Marko Alling, who finished eighth and ninth, and then crashed in the last two races; and Clyde Bresnahan, who finished 11th in his first race—way to go, boys. This was a great start to the season, and we look forward to seeing all these athletes progress.
The fields were comprised of about 50 racers and Creased Butte had four finishes in the top 15 and three finishes in the top 10.
