WSCU athlete Barbara Szabo sets school high jump record again

Division II record holder

Already possessing the highest jump this season in NCAA Division II, Barbara Szabo (Jr., Budapest, Hungary) extended her lead with a high jump mark of 1.89m (6’ 2.25”) at the Air Force Invitational on Saturday.
The jump was a personal best for the two-time defending indoor high jump national champion and set a school record.

Szabo was already the school record holder in the indoor high jump, setting the bar at 6’ 2” last season. She is now eight centimeters ahead of the second-place high jump mark and 15 centimeters ahead of third.
Saturday’s mark tied her for third place in all NCAA divisions this season.

Ernest Graham (So., Oakland, Calif.) finished the long jump in third place after a jump of 7.10m (23’ 3.50”). Graham’s jump is a provisional mark for the NCAA championships.

Western State Colorado University will continue its indoor track and field season this weekend when the team travels to Albuquerque, N.M. for the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. The two-day meet begins on Friday, February 1.
