Cart to Cart fun run this weekend

Valley rally

Crested Butte Mountain Runners presents the annual Camp 4 Coffee Cart to Cart trail run on Saturday, September 21.
There will be two options for runners: the classic 19-mile course and a 13.5 –mile course.
The 19-mile course leaves Camp 4 Coffee and Crested Butte on Elk Avenue and follows a series of incredible trails before finishing at the Camp 4 Coffee location in Crested Butte South.
The 13.5-mile course will shuttle out to Cold Spring Ranch on Brush Creek Road and then follow the same course to the finish. There is a total of 4,000 feet elevation gain and 4,300 feet of elevation loss on the 19-mile run and a total of 3,000 feet elevation gain and 3,300 feet elevation loss on the 13.5-mile long course.
The courses are predominately single-track trails and dirt roads with a very small amount of paved road. The trails vary from smooth-packed dirt to rocky and technical, and wind through incredible aspen forests.
The 19-mile run starts at 8 a.m. The 13.5-mile run shuttle will leave after the start of the 19-mile run.
Camp 4 Coffee will provide food and refreshments after the run. Finishers will receive a cool mug that can be filled with your favorite coffee beverage by the friendly barista. There are no prizes—just the joy of running!
You can register online at http://beta.active.com/crested-butte-co/running/cart-to-cart-trail-run-2013. There will be day of registration on September 21 at the start from 7 to 7:45 a.m. The entry fee is $20, or $15 for Crested Butte Mountain Runners members.
