WSCU cross country teams crush it at 2013 RMAC championships in New Mexico

Men take team title

Western State Colorado University (WSCU) cross-country racked up a men’s team title and the women placed second at the RMAC championships last weekend in Silver City, N.M.

 

WSCU earned more Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference postseason individual honors than any other RMAC school, with 18 awards total.
Head coach Jennifer Michel was named RMAC Cross Country Men’s Coach of the Year following the Mountaineer men’s 13th RMAC team title. This is Michel’s fourth RMAC Coach of the Year title.
Vegard Olstad (Jr., Gjovik, Norway) was the men’s individual RMAC Champion and earned the 2013 RMAC Men’s Runner of the Year award for his performance. Olstad ran the 8k course in a time of 23:56.5.
Olstad’s teammate, Keifer Johnson (R-Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.), took home the 2013 RMAC Men’s Freshman Runner of the Year award after finishing ninth at the RMAC Championships. Johnson ran the course in 24:53.5.
