Gunnison/CB swim team rises in Summit County

Racing this Saturday at WSCU pool at 11 a.m.

The Gunnison swim team was a little short, with five swimmers not attending, but still managed to pull out a second-place finish at the Summit Co. Invite Swim Meet, behind St. Mary’s from Denver. The other teams competing were Salida, Aspen, Summit, Platt County, and Palisade Central.
Maddie Redden had a perfect meet, posting personal bests in everything she swam. First-place finishes by Isabel Young (100 breast), Ellie Penney (500 free) and Elina Smith (200 IM) helped secure the second-place finish. Kiley Lefebvre also finished second in the 100 fly and fourth in the 100 back, both great finishes for her first meet back from knee surgery.
The Summit County pool is at 9,700 feet and Gunnison/Crested Butte swimmers showed they are ready and training hard.
The next meet is in the Western State Colorado University pool on Saturday, January 25 at 11 a.m. Come out and support your local swimmers.
