Junior regional and collegiate comps at CBMR postponed due to thin snow

Resort and IFSA keeping eyes on next storm cycle

Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) was slated to host an International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association (IFSA) competition February 14 to 16, but the event has been postponed due to thin snow conditions.
Events staff informed competitors of the decision on February 2, saying CBMR officials and IFSA staff made the call in order to provide a venue with adequate snow coverage for a high quality and safe event.
The competition would have included both Junior Regional and Collegiate 2 Star competitions, and has been postponed until further notice.
“We have to fit it into the IFSA calendar,” said Erica Mueller, CBMR director of innovations and relations, pointing out that two additional IFSA events in other locations have been canceled due to snow conditions. Events staff hope to announce a new date within the next two weeks.
