Thompson pursues opportunity in Denver

The Mt. Crested Butte Town Council is seeking applications for a council position to begin next month to replace Councilman Bill Thompson who has resigned.
Applicants must submit a letter of interest to the town by 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, or plan to appear in person at Mt. Crested Butte Town Council meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 6 p.m.
Thompson, who served on the council since April 2016, vacated his seat effective September 22 in order to pursue a position with the Colorado Division of Property Taxation in Denver.
In a letter to the Town Council announcing his decision, Thompson wrote, “I have experienced a tremendous amount of personal and professional growth in my time with the Council and I would like to thank you all for that.
Qualified applicants must be a United States citizen; must be a registered voter of Mt. Crested Butte; and must have resided in Mt. Crested Butte for at least one year.
