At the request of Gatesco Inc., Gunnison County has postponed the continuation of the public hearing on the proposed sketch plan for The Corner at Brush Creek housing development until July 20. The hearing continuation was originally scheduled for June 29.

Citing a need for more time to continue meeting with various stakeholders involved in the sketch plan process, Gatesco Inc. asked for additional time, according to Cathie Pagano, Gunnison County community economic and development director.

“I received a request from [Gatesco attorney] Kendall Burgemeister, who explained that the Gatesco team is meeting with a variety of stakeholders including the town of Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte, Friends of Brush Creek, and East River Water and Sanitation District to discuss the project,” wrote Pagano in an email.

When asked for details regarding the request, Burgemeister did not return calls or emails from the Crested Butte News.

The July 20 public hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in the county commissioner’s meeting room at the courthouse.
