Titan Up!

The Crested Butte Titans volleyball and soccer teams close out the regular season this Saturday at home while Porter Washburn carries the school colors at the 2A cross-country state championships in Colorado Springs. The soccer team hosts Telluride at Rainbow at 11 a.m. while volleyball faces South Park in mighty Mt. Olympus starting at 1 p.m. Both teams could use all the support they can get as they look to build momentum for the post season.

Ski film fundraiser

Come to the Center for the Arts Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m. to see the new ski film by Faction the Collective plus a short snowboard film. There will be giveaways, door prizes and plenty of stoke. The event is a fundraiser for the four CBMST junior freeride athletes headed to compete on the Junior Freeride World Tour event in Austria this winter. Tickets can be purchased online at thecollectivecb.bpt.me for $10 in advance and $13 at door the day of. 

Party for the library this Saturday at Kochevar’s

Come celebrate the Old Rock, your public library, this Saturday, October 26 at Kochevar’s Saloon, 127 Elk Ave., in sunny Crested Butte beginning at 3 p.m. Cool drinks and live music will be provided until the money runs out! Get your questions about Gunnison County Libraries Issue 6A answered and join us in voting yes to support our libraries!

Workout to help the local Mentors program

Everyone is welcome to attend the Halloween Pop-Up Workout on Thursday, October 31 from noon to 1 p.m. Join Ginny and Kaitlyn from Core on your lunch break on Halloween for a fun, cardio workout in the Center for the Arts field. Dress in your best costume and bring a friend to get revved up for the festivities. Enjoy a great workout and help support the local Mentors program.

The Night of the Living Dead is back in style!
 KBUT will host its ninth annual, “Zombie Prom Goes Hollywood” at the Talk of the Town on Friday, October 25 at 9 p.m. Take a walk on the red carpet and bring to life, or death, your favorite actor, movie character, or anything Hollywood! Two extraordinary Hollywood Zombies will be crowned Prom Queen and King and OZscars will be given out to the best dressed Actress, Actor, Best Hair and Makeup and more! CREEDE REPERTORY THEATRE: The Creede Repertory Theatre performed their high-energy, bilingual musical “Best Foot Forward” for CBCS elementary students on October 22.  The performances were funded by the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley, the Enrichment Program and the CBCS Elementary School.
