An opportunity to directly ask local politicians your questions
The Crested Butte News in conjunction with KBUT and the CB Center for the Arts is hosting a Candidate’s Forum this Sunday. The event is a chance for local citizens to ask their questions of the candidates running for Crested Butte town council. It starts at 6 p.m. and proof of vaccination is required to get into the Center. KBUT will also be broadcasting the forum live.

Mountain passes white but in good driving shape…for now
Despite the snow that is dropping this week, word from the county is that both Kebler and Cottonwood Passes are in good shape and the county is continuing to plow the roads. Of course that can change quickly so stay aware as we move into winter conditions. Right now Cottonwood is scheduled to officially close on November 1.

Land Trust seeking your photos
Do you have a great photo of some of the nearby Crested Butte Land Trust property? It’s not like there haven’t been some spectacular sunsets or sunrises around here lately. The CB Land Trust is seeking photo submissions for the 2023 calendar and other Land Trust promotional material. Contact Jess at jessica@cblandtrust.org.

Applicants are required to submit a 2,000 maximum word count essay or a three-minute maximum length video. To apply, please send your essay or video application to: KnoxFrankScholarship@gmail.com (subject: Knox Scholarship). All applications are due on or before Sunday, October 24.
