Pick up your Christmas Tree tag in CB Thursday

The Gunnison Ranger District will be selling Christmas Tree tags at the CB Chamber of Commerce this Thursday, December 5  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please bring cash or check. Tree tags cost $8. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

CB Holiday Bazaar this Saturday

The 25th annual CB Holiday Bazaar will be held this Saturday in the Crested Butte Community School multi-purpose room. There will be plenty of opportunity to get your holiday gifts taken care of without rushing. Santa will be there as well. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Avalanche Awareness Night

The Crested Butte Avalanche center will host the annual Avalanche Awareness Night presented by Black Tie Ski Rental on Saturday, December 7 at Mountaineer Square starting at 5 p.m. There will be presentations, videos, pizza, beer, swag and, of course, not one but two raffles. $10 at the door, $5 for CBAC members.

Lots of lights and Santas for the holidays

“Tis the season. Santa will be at the tree lighting ceremony taking place Saturday, December 7 at Mountaineer Square in Mt. Crested Butte. That is the main holiday kick-off for the Chamber of Commerce. Santa will greet children starting at 4:30 p.m. and go until 7 o’clock. Before that gig the jolly fella will be at the Crested Butte Holiday Bazaar on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school. Santa will be at the Crested Butte Heritage Museum on Sunday, December 8 from 4:30 to 7:30. And Gunnison’s annual Night of Lights is Friday, December 6 on Main Street from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Dine Out Thursday for the CBCS Enrichment Program!

Beacon Brush Up

The Crested Butte Avalanche Center and Irwin Guides are partnering up to present the Beacon Brush Up on Sunday, December 8 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. behind the Crested Butte Community School. It is a great opportunity to get instruction on beacon search and rescue techniques from professional forecasters and guides. Best of all, it’s free.

Duane Vandenbusche will teach the History of Crested Butte at the Crested Butte Community School on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. starting on January 23 and finishing on April 9, 2020. The class will cover the Elk Mountains, Silver and Gold Mining, Ethnic Peoples, Early Day Skiing, Coal Mining, Polka Music and Pete Dunda, Narrow Gauge Railroads, Satellite Mining Camps and Ranching. FOOD PANTRY AWARD: The Gunnison Country Food Pantry awarded its Spirit of Hope awards to Kathie Lucas and Joe Dix at the annual meeting held Friday, November 22.

 

WARREN MILLER FILM: The Crested Butte Film Festival brought Warren Miller’s new ski film, Timeless, to the big screen in the Center for the Arts on Friday, November 29 with the help from Travel Crested Butte and Crested Butte Lodging.
