Local Closures, Cancelled Events & Postponements

We will update this list daily with local cancelled events, postponements and closures:

Gunnison REIJ School District – Classes suspended until March 30

Western Colorado University – On-campus classes suspended   through at least April 3.

Crested Butte Town Offices – Town hall is closed through at least March 30. Town buildings are minimally staffed with no public access. Phone at town hall will be staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F. Rec programs are shut down as well.

Mt. Crested Butte Town Offices – Mt. CB town hall is closed to public. Town staff is working via telephone and email. Please call Town Hall at 970-349-6632 to speak with a staff member. If you need the Mt. Crested Butte Police Department please call 970-349-6516 or 970-641-8200 for a non-emergency. If this is an emergency please call 911.

Mt. Crested Butte Water and Sanitation District Office – The District admin office at 100 Gothic Road will be closed to the public with minimal staffing. The District is taking appropriate actions to protect the health of our employees and ensure our treatment plants will continue to operate without disruptions. The District’s on-call operations and emergency phone numbers will continue to function as usual.

Chamber of Commerce – Mt. CB Visitor Center is closed till further notice. Crested Butte Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate our visitors, answer questions, and help disperse pertinent information as it becomes available.

Gunnison County Libraries – All local libraries will be closed until April 8, 2020, in cooperation with a Gunnison County Public Health Order. The closure will commence at the end of business on March 13, 2020.

Gunnison County Electric Association – Offices are currently closed to walk-in traffic

Center for the Arts – All March and April events postponed. Additionally, in accordance with today’s Official Order from Gunnison County Public Health to limit social gatherings and to practice social distancing, the Center for the Arts building will be temporarily closed until Monday, March 30, 2020 except by appointment. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call (970) 349-7487. We feel this is the best course of action to take at this time for the health of our patrons, staff and our community.

Gunnison Arts Center – Cancelled all March events at a minimum.

Gunnison Parks and Rec – Gunnison Rec Center, Jorgensen Ice Rink, Gunnison Senior Center all closed.

Adaptive Sports Center – The Adaptive Sports Center has decided to suspend all programming operations for the remainder of the winter season.

Grand Traverse – This year’s Grand Traverse Ski is cancelled.

KBUT – Soul Train 2020 is officially cancelled for March 27th and will be postponed for a future summer or fall date that is still to be determined.

Crested Butte School of Dance – Classes are cancelled through March 30. Spring shows will be rescheduled.

Trailhead Children’s Museum – Museum floor and programming closed through March 30.

Gunnison Valley Health Wellness Events – postponed March events Gunnison Early Blood Draws and Crested Butte Wellness Fair.

Gunnison Valley Health Foundation – Postponed the Night of Caring gala originally scheduled for Friday, March 13 at the CB Center for the Arts

Paradise Preschool Casino Night – Originally scheduled for Friday, March 13, postponed.

The Elk Avenue Prime steakhouse –  Closed for the rest of the winter season.
