“It was a really difficult decision”

After nearly six months of searching and vetting potential candidates for the new Mt. Crested Butte town manager position, the Mt. Crested Butte town council has selected Isa Reeb of Denver for the job. They agreed to present a formal offer during their February 16 meeting and to commence negotiations with her.
Reeb, of Reeb Consulting, has a background as an urban strategist specializing in complex urban growth projects. “Her background in design and her sense of creativity and the way she has managed major projects won people over,” said mayor Janet Farmer. “She will bring a new fresh vision and I hope it works out for the best.”
Farmer also expressed how difficult the decision was for the council in choosing between the final two candidates for the job, Reeb and the town’s interim town manager and community development director Carlos Velado. “That was really tough,” said Farmer. “But we think Carlos and Isa will work really well together.”
Farmer called Reeb Wednesday morning to share the news, and said that Reeb was excited about the opportunity. Reeb has also expressed interest in moving into one of the Homestead units the town has set aside for a future town manager, which is still under construction.
Town has begun negotiations with Reeb, and hopes to get her on board in the coming weeks. Ideally, she would start by March 1, said Farmer, but the timeline is still uncertain.
