Mt. Crested Butte briefs

Master plan survey

Community development specialist Hillary Seminick updated the town council on June 7 on the recently released winter experience public survey for the town’s master plan.

“This has been an amazing opportunity where we can reengage the public,” she said.

The town has received more than 338 digital survey responses, compared to last year’s master plan survey with 80 respondents.

Seminick said the town has sent the survey to over 1,200 email recipients and has seen a nearly 79% email open rate. “That is a staggering rate,” she said, noting that the average government email open rate is 28%.

The town also had a table at the Farmer’s Market in Crested Butte. “I did feel like we had a lot better representation of demographics throughout our entire valley,” she said. “We had kids participating, adults, members of the community, visitors of the community. It was a really successful event.”

Overall, “We are getting a very clear picture of where our community’s priorities are,” said Seminick. The survey data will be included in the master planning document as it is finalized.

Marlene Crosby proclamation

The town council declared a proclamation thanking Marlene Crosby for her many years of service and hard work to Gunnison County as deputy county manager for public works.

“The decades of dedication to this community are greatly appreciated and the Town of Mt. Crested Butte wishes Marlene all the best in her retirement,” the proclamation reads. “May she have many years ahead to enjoy this great County that she has shaped for the better.”

Gunnison County commissioners and the Crested Butte town council also made proclamations to honor Crosby.

Adaptive liquor licenses

The town council approved the Adaptive Sports Center’s applications for two special event liquor licenses. The first is for their Starry Night auction dinner on June 28, and the second is a memorial for Linda Fialkoff on June 30.
